Lead Clinical Trainer - Wellbeing Champion

NHS Scotland
Wishaw
GBP 40,000 - 80,000
Job description

Lead Clinical Trainer - Wellbeing Champion

Department of Medical Education

NHS Lanarkshire - University Hospital Wishaw

This post is fixed term for 1 year

This post is open to NHS Lanarkshire Staff only

The NHS Lanarkshire Department of Medical Education seeks an enthusiastic, motivated clinician to work in collaboration with the Director of Medical Education, Training Quality Leads (Site DDMEs), DDME (Undergraduates), and appropriate partners, in championing the wellbeing of both postgraduate and undergraduate medical trainees.

The wellbeing of medical trainees and their senior colleagues is of significant concern in the current health service. Recent NTS (GMC) data showed a high degree of stress and burnout in trainees. The GMC has recently released its detailed report “Caring for doctors caring for patients” along with recommendations.

The post-holder will contribute to the quality of the medical learning and clinical environment for which NHS Lanarkshire is increasingly renowned.

In particular, they will, with appropriate colleagues from Medical Education, Senior Management, Pastoral care team, and Career Grade Medical colleagues, lead the development and delivery of a wellbeing strategy for medical trainees in both postgraduate and undergraduate areas.

The post will be paid at the level of one PA per week. Posts are available for 1 year in the first instance.

Expressions of interest are welcome from interested Career Grade Staff.
