Job Title: Children’s Social Worker – UASC Service
Location: Nottinghamshire
Rate: £35 per hour

A Children’s Social Worker is required to join Nottinghamshire County Council’s UASC Service. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team.

As a Social Worker on the UASC Team you will be:

  • An experienced qualified Social Worker to be based within our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) team (part of our Children Looked After and Leaving Care Service).
  • Expected to cover duty 5 times a month which is either one or 2 days a week (depending on how the rota works out). They would be expected to be in the office on those days.
  • A looked after Social Worker but exclusively with unaccompanied asylum seeking children in the care of Nottinghamshire County Council via the National Transfer Scheme (NTS), spontaneous arrival presentations and adult asylum accommodation presentations.
  • Undertaking the main role of a looked after social worker and requirements for looked after children, as well as being responsive to the need to accommodate children via the NTS, age assessments responses and working within a small team in relation to offering the best support and services to young people and their adjustment to life in the UK.

As a Social Worker you are required to:

  • Hold a Social Work England registration
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK license
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
