A prominent healthcare charity in Huddersfield is seeking a Fundraising and Engagement Assistant to enhance community relations and support fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate will manage inquiries, assist in event planning, and foster relationships with donors and volunteers. Experience in fundraising or community work is essential. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the local community.
Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity are the official charity of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT). Our mission is to make a lasting and meaningful difference to patients and families across our communities by funding projects that enhance the experience of all who step through our two hospital doors or who receive care and support from CHFT in the community.
The Fundraising and Engagement Assistant is an integral part of the charity team. The post-holder will contribute toward the successful performance of the charity by engaging with communities and CHFT colleagues to fundraise and support the ambitions of the charity. This includes assisting the charity team in delivering the planned calendar of events, supporting third party events/fundraisers and internal CHFT fundraising activities.
The post is an important link between the charity, CHFT employees and the local community. The post-holder will assist the charity in delivering a seamless and unique donor experience to every individual connecting with the charity, ensuring that respectful, genuine and engaging relationships are formed with a wide range of people with diverse needs and wishes. The post will assist the charity in delivering target income from community based events and activities, including the support of external and third-party fundraisers. The postholder will maximise the use of CHFT employees and volunteers to raise the profile, funds and awareness of CHFT Charity.
We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT. We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services. We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza. We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation.
Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community. Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.
