Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in Mental Health?

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic trust.

We are seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work as part of the team within Cherrywood Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit. Cherrywood is a 7-bedded unit that provides short-term (up to one year) residential rehabilitation to help service users return to independent living.

The unit enables people with severe and complex mental health problems to gain or regain the confidence and skills in everyday activities, which will enable them to fulfill their potential for recovery and independence.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an established, dynamic, and friendly residential rehabilitation inpatient service. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who would be committed to working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to support the recovery of individuals cared for in this context.

The post offers an excellent opportunity to develop clinical leadership expertise and has scope for personal and professional development within a highly professional and supportive environment.

The vacancy allows for a range of competencies as identified within the AFC Knowledge and skills framework, as well as a range of development opportunities within the area of mental health practice.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of patient need and the development, implementation, and evaluation of Occupational Therapy treatment and programmes of care, acting as a clinical team leader.
• Taking the lead with other senior staff in planning a high-quality programme of therapeutic and occupational activities for a caseload of patients in a rehabilitation setting, and being involved in the delivery of these.
• Educating, supervising, and teaching qualified and unqualified staff, students, patients, and relatives.
