About the role

As an Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor at Maximus, you'll use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll work on complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders. Your compassion and experience will help customers move forward with their lives.

The role is both challenging and rewarding. We provide a tailored training programme to help you thrive, including 6 weeks of initial training, followed by ongoing support and mentorship.

Duties and responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life
• Produce reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine a person’s eligibility for benefits
• Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision

Requirements

• Valid HCPC registration number
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience, gained within or outside of the NHS
• You MUST have the right to work in the UK – sponsorships are not available
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
