The L&D Manager will work for a Senior L&D Manager.

This role leads the design, delivery and governance of Heathrow's compliance and professional qualifications learning offer. It ensures colleagues build the business-critical capabilities needed to meet regulatory requirements, maintain professional standards, and support professional development.

It plays a key role in enabling Heathrow to mitigate risk, maintain credibility, and build future-ready capabilities. Working closely with regulators, risk owners, and internal stakeholders, the role ensures learning solutions are current, compliant, and aligned to business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and governing the compliance and mandatory learning portfolio (e.g., Fire Safety, Health & Safety, Cyber Security), ensuring content is current, legally compliant, and aligned with business needs.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for mandatory learning, providing expert guidance, operational support, and stakeholder engagement on compliance requirements and governance processes.
  • Shaping and overseeing the end-to-end development of learning solutions, applying a consulting approach to define audiences, objectives, and outcomes, and ensuring alignment with standards and the 5Di methodology.
  • Establishing and maintaining governance frameworks and reporting, tracking completion rates, compliance status, and professional qualifications to inform strategic decision-making and enable cost efficiency.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to maintain standards, ensure content quality, and support the development of scalable, engaging, and performance-driven learning solutions.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing compliance and mandatory learning portfolios.
  • Demonstrated governance experience, including oversight of professional qualifications and external learning spend.
  • Experience partnering with regulators, risk owners, and SMEs to maintain standards and ensure legal compliance.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory learning requirements, governance frameworks, and performance outcomes.
  • Ability to apply learning consulting principles to shape targeted, outcome-driven learning solutions.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, product ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Working Location

Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
