We have a vacancy for a Production Shift Managerto join our management team. We are looking for an experienced professional who has led big teams with multiple direct reports.

Join us at Pro‑Pak Foods as ourProduction Shift Manager leading our PM shift, including prep / kitchen / ready meals / sleeving and PIBS. Reporting directly into our Head of Operations, we are looking for an ambassador for Pro‑Pak Foods. We are seeking someone who is a positive influencer and who will progress and mentor their team of 15 direct reports, with a wider team of around 100 amazing colleagues.

Are you are an accomplished and proven operational leader with experience in running either food or fresh produce production/manufacturing shifts? Do you have vast amounts of experience and a proven track record in implementing change, improving operational performance and driving behavioural or cultural development? Then this could be the role for you.

Main responsibilities and duties for this role will be:
Safety and Environment 10%
  • Maintain and promote HSE/ Pro‑Pak Foods standards for safety and environmental issues.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvements in employee safety.
Food Safety 10%
  • Ensure food safety standards are supported within the production team.
  • Member of the food safety/HACCP team.
Process 30%
  • Daily monitoring and reviewing of process performance
  • Continuous improvement culture.
  • Ensure production targets are met.
  • Plan and manage the execution product demand to meet customer requirements.
People Management 50%
  • Promote Pro‑Pak Foods policies within the process teams.
  • Manage the activities of the production team on site to deliver product in full.
  • Improve skill base to ensure competent workforce.
  • Set high standards for self and team
  • Continuous development of people
  • Identification of their training and development needs.
  • Conduct disciplinary meetings if required.
Skills & Experience required to be our new Production Shift Manager:
  • Ideally from the food and drink industry
  • Experience in managing all aspects of a manufacturing organisation
  • In depth knowledge of operational issues, customer requirements, product quality and application specifications
  • SHE (leadership) experience.
  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • Sound financial management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills: Communicate clear objectives, provide feedback, suggest improvement for individual performance, effective coaching
  • Excellent change management skills : Adaptability to changing business needs, introducing new ways of thinking and behaving, applying new ideas.
  • Be customer‑focused and achievement‑driven
  • Manage conflicting priorities within tight deadlines
