An exciting opportunity has arisen at Carmarthenshire County Council for 2 qualified Environmental Health Officers, working in our Food; Safety and Health Team, within Environmental Protection Services.
Food Safety; Food Standards; Infectious Disease; Health and Safety; Special Procedures and Animal Feed; are all key service areas delivered by the team
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, self-motivated; energetic professionals with the necessary skills to undertake a wide range of duties to protect public health,in accordance with legislative requirements and the Council’s corporate policies and priorities.
Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking a range of programmed and reactive interventions across all areas of work but will maintain a lead focus on Food Safety and Food Standards.
You must be an Environmental Health Officer and hold a Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board or equivalent. As a minimum, you must have recent experience of completing food hygiene and food standards inspections within a local government setting and be able to demonstrate competency in line with the FSA Code of Practice.

You will be an excellent communicator and negotiator with a natural empathy in dealing with all kinds of people. Above all, you will display the essential attitude to get things done.
