A UK-based educational institution is seeking a Specialist Learning Mentor to provide 1:1 mentoring to students with specific learning difficulties. Responsibilities include supporting learning in-class, assisting with resource preparation, and promoting independent learning. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties and a strong background in supporting young people, especially those with Autism Spectrum Condition. This role offers a salary of £17,936.61 – £19,146.74 pro rata per annum, with a focus on student achievement.
This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College. In order to comply with mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services Department. This role is pro rata. The salary is £17,936.61 – £19,146.74 per annum. For roles that start part way through the academic year, the annual salary will be pro rata to the remaining months.

Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within Regulated Activity within a specific place (i.e. the College). This role is classed as working within Regulated Activity. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. The Specialist Learning Mentor’s time will be spent with the identified student/s in a mentoring capacity both in the classroom/workshop/practical environment and 1:1 mentoring outside of taught sessions. There will be a requirement to undertake administrative tasks relating to recording student progress and supporting student retention and achievement.
