Neway International are seeking a Working Denbighshire Placement Officer to join our client based with Denbighshire County Council.

Location: East Parade, Rhyl, LL18 3AH

Hours: 37 hours per week

Start Date: 26 January 2026

Duration: Initially for 3 months with possible extension

Pay Rate: £17.47 per hour PAYE

Work Pattern: Minimum of 3 days per week on site

The Employer Engagement Team plays a key role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred support that empowers individuals to move closer to work and long‑term stability.

As a Working Denbighshire Placement Officer, you will provide enhanced employment‑focused support to participants aged 16+ while they are on their work placement. You will deliver 1:1 mentoring, coaching, and strengths‑based guidance to help individuals overcome barriers, develop new skills, and progress towards sustainable employment.

You will work collaboratively with employers, internal teams, and partner agencies to ensure placements are meaningful, supportive, and aligned with each participant’s goals. The role requires excellent relationship‑building skills, strong organisational ability, and a commitment to empowering people through a person‑centred approach.

• Manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored 1:1 support throughout their placement
• Deliver strengths‑based assessments, personal profiles, and outcome‑focused action plans
• Mentor and coach participants to build confidence, develop skills, and overcome barriers
• Maintain regular contact with employers to ensure placements run smoothly and issues are resolved
• Complete risk assessments and risk management plans in line with safeguarding and lone‑working procedures
• Carry out formal reviews, capturing progress, challenges, and development needs
• Provide case studies and performance information for monitoring and reporting
• Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with data protection and audit requirements
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support participant progression
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery

• Relevant qualification (e.g., Youth & Community Work, Social Work, Employability, Mentoring/Coaching) or substantial experience supporting vulnerable individuals
• Experience providing mentoring or intensive support to people with multiple or complex needs
• Strong understanding of poverty, social disadvantage, and barriers to employment
• Experience completing strengths‑based assessments, action plans, and reviews
• Experience working with statutory, voluntary, and private sector partners
• Ability to manage databases, maintain accurate records, and meet reporting requirements
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and motivate others
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work independently
• Empathetic, non‑judgemental, and committed to empowering individuals
• Willingness to travel across Denbighshire and work flexibly, including occasional evenings/weekends
• Welsh language skills are desirable
