Job summary
A leading energy firm in the UK is seeking a SHE-focused Assurance Lead with strong audit and assurance experience from asset-intensive sectors. This hybrid role involves leading assurance reviews, enhancing control frameworks, and driving safety and operational improvements. The ideal candidate will have a solid SHE background, experience in ISO management systems, and be an analytical communicator. Qualifications
- Must have strong SHE-focused background, including process safety.
- Experience in audit/assurance within asset-intensive industries is essential.
- Ability to apply ISO standards and communicate confidently.
Responsibilities
- Lead 10–15 assurance reviews annually.
- Deliver SHE & Cyber technical assurance.
- Drive improvements in safety and operations.
- Oversee ISO standards compliance.
- Provide impactful trend analysis recommendations.
Skills
Hybrid : UK wide (30% onsite / 70% remote).
Must be willing to travel anywhere in the UK
£60-70k DOE
We’re looking for a SHE-focused Assurance Lead with strong audit / assurance experience from energy, utilities, engineering, construction or asset management environments.
You'll sit in the 2nd line of defence , delivering assurance reviews, improving control frameworks, and raising standards across a complex, high-hazard operation.
- Lead 10–15 assurance reviews annually
- Deliver SHE & Cyber technical assurance
- Drive improvements across safety, operations and asset management
- Oversee ISO standards (9001, 55001, 14001, 45001, etc.)
- Analyse trends and provide impactful recommendations
- Influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels
- Strong SHE background (process safety, occupational safety, environment, H&W, etc.)
- Audit / assurance experience in asset-intensive industries
- Solid grasp of the Three Lines of Defence model
- ISO management system expertise
- Analytical, detail-driven, confident communicator
