Your mission, roles and responsibilities

The main mission of the Interiors Systems Business Group Legal Counsel: Faurecia Interiors Systems Legal Counsel will be responsible for supporting the main transactional matters worldwide related to Interiors Systems business globally, under the supervision of the VP Legal and in close cooperation with specialist lawyers, as well as all stakeholders of the legal community. Beyond this mission, the Legal Counsel will promote an awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements and ethical principles consistent with the laws, regulations and Faurecia Procedures, through its participation to management meetings as well as trainings in France and abroad.

• Become familiar with the automotive industry environment and the key people, activities, products and key risks of Faurecia’s automotive businesses; to become an efficient partnership with the business group he/she serves;
• Manage the legal affairs of the above business by advising clients on day to day issues in a wide variety of areas;
• Draft and review a wide range of commercial contracts (with customers, suppliers, service providers, etc ) and legal documents with a special focus on preventing legal risks and litigation;
• Advise business teams and upper management on proposed business strategies, thereby identifying risks to mitigate them,
• Handle or assist in transactional work, such as acquisitions and joint ventures and support business integration activities following such transactions;
• Select, where needed, control and monitor outside legal counsel;
• Be a full member of the global legal team, to maintain close interaction with specialist lawyers and other business group colleagues

Your profile and competencies to succeed

The ideal candidate will have:

• Master’s degree in law, bar exam is a plus
• Minimum of 5-6 experience, with a strong focus on contractual and transactional matters, ideally in the manufacturing industry and/or in an international law firm where he/she has developed a strong capability as a generalist lawyer
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
• Knowledge of common law is appreciated
• Good editorial skills, synthesis and rigor
• Flexible and creative approach to solving legal problems, with risk management and negotiation skills
• Business oriented
• Dynamism and responsiveness
• Curiosity combined with solution orientation & pragmatism
