Head of Digital Systems (all genders)

Just-Evotec Biologics is seeking a Digital leader to build the Digital team, culture, and systems required to establish J.POD Toulouse as a world-class digitally-enabled platform for biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing, utilizing proprietary processes and continuous manufacturing techniques.

This role requires a collaborative leader skilled in building and leading cross-functional teams of staff and contractors to install, configure, deploy, validate, and manage Digital systems supporting product development, GMP manufacturing, and business operations. The candidate should be customer-oriented, collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs, deliver initial operational capabilities, and advance digital maturity through process optimization, automation, and insights. The ideal candidate is strategic, a strong communicator, experienced in GMP digital operations, and a leader in operational excellence.

Responsibilities

The Head of Digital Systems will:

• Lead installation, configuration, deployment, validation, and lifecycle management of Digital systems supporting development, manufacturing, and operations at J.POD Toulouse.
• Report to the VP for Digitization and be part of the Digital Governance Team, with operational reporting to the Site Head/VP for Manufacturing and the Site Leadership Team.
• Build and lead a high-performing Digital workforce, including staff, contractors, and service providers, with some roles reporting to other departments with dotted-line reporting to Digital Systems.
• Establish and lead the Digital Governance Team, developing a charter and defining roles for system governance.
• Contribute to the Digital Capability Roadmap, focusing initially on requirements and operational capabilities, with future planning for enhancements over three years.
• Promote a digital-first culture emphasizing customer focus, innovation, data-driven decisions, collaboration, agility, and flexibility.
• Deliver digital services to meet mission requirements, develop team goals, and apply operational excellence for continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets for Digital systems, staff, and services.
• Oversee all phases of Digital system acquisition, implementation, validation, and lifecycle management.
• Maintain real-time inventory and documentation of Digital systems, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Implement controls for validation, cybersecurity, incident response, and business continuity.
• Identify and manage risks associated with Digital systems and projects.
• Build stakeholder relationships to support operational success.
• Stay informed on emerging digital trends and assess their relevance.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or Life Sciences.
• 10+ years in Digital leadership roles within GMP manufacturing facilities.
• Experience leading large-scale Digital system startups or transformations.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to influence and drive organizational change.
• Strong project management and team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of biologics manufacturing and supply chain operations.
• Familiarity with emerging digital trends and technologies.
