The climate emergency is here and it is the greatest societal threat that we face. The world as we know it is running out of time and the window for small, incremental action has closed. Instead, we need an emergency-level response to accelerate decarbonization around the world. ACE works at the nexus of youth, strategic communications, and civic engagement to accelerate our pathway toward a decarbonized world. We reach tens of millions of people with our programs each year and are driving a new climate narrative to engage audiences that our movement has yet to reach. We utilize leading-edge media strategies to combat dangerous disinformation, drive action-taking, and increase diverse participation in the democratic process. Our staff and board members are dynamic, diverse and talented, and our team is currently growing to meet this critical moment of opportunity.
Job Summary
The Global Director of Marketing (GDM) at ACE is an essential part of ACE’s Growth and Digital Team, leading all aspects of ACE’s global strategic communications, digital advertising, and creator marketing strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the geopolitics of climate change, energy markets, and global marketing strategies, as well as an extensive network of trusted consultants and marketing agencies with whom they’ve worked. The GDM will work across teams to build high-impact, high-scale digital campaigns to (1) shift public opinion away from fossil fuels, and (2) accelerate the deployment of decarbonized energy, industry, transport and jobs. The GDM will lead global outreach with vendors, partners and consultants in three predetermined global markets: UK, South Africa and Brazil; lead the development of ACE’s global creator community; design and execute highly-effective campaigns to achieve our goals; and work with ACE’s Research and Experimentation Team to monitor, evaluate and improve our offerings.
This is a full-time position, anywhere in the world. Candidates must be willing to work a consistent 8-hour work day, during a slot of their choosing, within the hours of 9am Eastern Time to 8pm Eastern Time. Employment will be contracted by an employer of record with benefits, as stipulated by the needs and law of the country of residence for non-US candidates. The GDM will work from home, meet as required by video chat with teams, and have weekly national full staff meetings with colleagues online. Travel will be required when safe to relevant events, staff retreats, and other convenings as needed. The GDM reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and will manage all aspects of our global strategic communications efforts, including but not limited to: creative strategy, creator marketing, vendor management, and digital/out-of-home/print advertising. The GDM will also lead the design and launch of ACE’s global creator community, overseeing creator recruitment, community management, and professional development.
The GDM will ensure ACE’s global marketing efforts are highly scalable, effective and cost-efficient — delivering highly-engaging, shareworthy content aligned with ACE’s campaigns in the region. The position will be managed through an in-country Employer of Record in the country of residence and has a term of one year through December 31, 2026.
