Description:
The Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline by the time of appointment, with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence.
We seek candidates whose teaching interests will complement and enhance our department’s strengths in education. Applicants should have experience in teaching statistics, biostatistics, or data science at the undergraduate level, including course design, delivery, curriculum development, and online materials creation.
Candidates must show a commitment to pedagogical excellence and innovation, with interests in advancing teaching practices and curriculum development. Expertise in applying statistical methods in data science, machine learning, or AI is required, along with experience in real-world data applications and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred qualifications include supervising undergraduate research, managing large courses and TAs, and a collaborative approach to teaching.
Evidence of teaching excellence should be demonstrated through awards, presentations, a comprehensive teaching dossier, and strong references.
