Shift supervisor - St-Clet
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor oversees and participates in the day-to-day operations of the facility. This role supervises, supports and trains plant team members in the areas of production, maintenance, health and safety, and quality control. The Shift Supervisor coordinates daily production requirements based on the production plan set by the Production Manager or designate.
Principle Accountabilities
- Coordinates daily production activities with team members to provide superior customer service.
- Completes daily production reports correctly and completely.
- Ensures equipment is working efficiently and product meets required quality standards.
- Maintains a clean production area with the support of team based on the housekeeping policy put in place.
- Complies with and follows Company Health and Safety policies, procedures, practices and legislative standards.
- Provides training, coaching and development for production team members in areas of production, job function, health and safety and record keeping.
- Reports any equipment issues and shop material requirements to Production Manager, in a timely manner.
Skills And Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Post-secondary education in a related trade is preferred.
- Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing setting.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations in the HDPE field, preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise and motivate team members in a production environment.
- Provide advance notification if scheduled goals and objectives cannot be met. This includes the assessment of alternative dates in which the work can be completed for review..
- Effective coaching of production team members to reduce equipment breakdown and improve overall productivity.
