A R Business Brokerage Inc. is a RECO-registered, independent business brokerage located in Mississauga, Ontario. We specialize in the confidential sale of small and mid-sized businesses across a variety of industries. We provide professional, ethical, and results-driven service to business owners and buyers throughout every stage of the transaction process. As we expand, we are seeking an experienced and proactive VP of Operations to lead internal operations and drive company performance.

Job Summary

The VP of Operations is responsible for the daily management and operational success of the brokerage and will report directly to the President. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong financial foundation, operational expertise, and a solid understanding of brokerage compliance. The successful candidate will be expected to effectively run and manage the brokerage, ensuring smooth internal operations, team accountability, regulatory compliance, and strategic support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day internal operations of the brokerage
• Review trades and ensure full compliance with RECO and internal standards
• Use Lone Wolf to manage brokerage transactions, documents, and compliance processes
• Supervise and support internal team members and licensed business brokers
• Lead broker recruitment efforts and manage onboarding and training processes
• Enforce company policies and procedures; support policy development and updates
• Coordinate trust account management, financial controls, and documentation
• Collaborate with the President on strategic planning, reporting, and operational improvements
• Track deal flow and broker performance metrics using Pipedrive CRM
• Oversee financial reporting and support bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
• Contribute insights and support for business valuation and deal analysis
• Serve as the key point of contact for auditors, accountants, and legal advisors
• Ensure the brokerage remains audit-ready and fully compliant at all times
• Proficient with Wagepoint and performing payroll
• Prepare and review listing agreements, offers to purchase, and letters of intent (LOIs)
• Review and coordinate adjustments to legal documents used throughout the transaction process
• Understand and ensure compliance with FINTRAC obligations, including client identification and reporting requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in brokerage operations, finance, or executive administration
• Strong financial background with experience in budgeting, reporting, and trust accounting
• Experience managing or helping run a RECO-registered brokerage is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Lone Wolf, QuickBooks Online, and Pipedrive CRM
• Deep understanding of RECO compliance requirements and trade review processes
• Experience in recruiting and developing licensed brokers or agents
• Familiarity with small business valuation concepts is a strong asset
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Must be able to work on-site in Mississauga, Ontario (this is not a remote position)
