A leading mining company in Timmins is seeking an Engineer in Training to rotate through various engineering functions, including surveying and ventilation. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills. As an Engineer in Training/Engineering Graduate, you will follow a rotation through various engineering functions (on surface and underground) that may include:
- Surveying
- Ventilation
- Ground control
- Longhole planning
- Development design
- Scheduling and day-to-day tracking
- Short-term planning
- Embedded time with underground production crews to understand mine production roles first hand
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited University
- Seeking P.Eng. license with PEO when eligible
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and underground mine operations
- Proficiency in mine planning software (Desik.CAD and Deswik.Sched)
- The applicant must be eligible to work in Canada
