About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles. Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off.

As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.

About the Role

In the role, you will:

  • Supervise mechanical team executing maintenance on mill equipment
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and support BOS principles including 5S
  • Conduct field leadership activities
  • Time confirm all scheduled maintenance work orders
  • Work with maintenance planner to create weekly maintenance schedule
  • Understand site safety policies/procedures and create work permits as required
  • Ensure team members have all materials required to perform the job safely, including PPE and proper tools
  • Ensure team members have appropriate training related to assigned tasks
  • Support team with HR related inquiries such as vacation requests and payroll questions
  • Engage with team members in 1:1 sessions to address concerns and support team development

  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors
  • Mechanical maintenance experience is preferred
  • Potash experience is an asset
  • Strong leadership skills
