What You’ll Do

  • Support KWL project managers and staff on a diverse range of engineering and planning projects
  • Work in project teams to manage and deliver municipal and Indigenous community infrastructure planning, design, and construction projects
  • Prepare proposals for competitive and non-competitive project opportunities
  • Prepare detailed design calculations and work with CAD team members on design drawing development
  • Write technical reports for community planning and infrastructure assessments and design
  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications
  • Prepare construction bid documents
  • Support construction contract administration
  • Conduct construction reviews and associated field and office work
  • Proficiency in data management and synthesis using applications such as Excel
  • Data visualization through graphing, mapping, infographic and other media an asset

What You’ll Bring

  • A positive and motivated personality!
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or a related engineering field
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a EIT role; consulting experience considered an asset
  • Familiarity with subdivision design or typical engineering design criteria considered an asset
  • Registered as an Engineering in Training (EIT) in B.C. or eligible for registration
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Understanding of Indigenous Services Canada funding processes considered an asset
  • Indigenous Cultural Safety Training and demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities considered an asset
  • A desire to learn new skills and an eagerness to grow within your role
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license (in good standing) is mandatory
  • Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work. This may include handling and operation of equipment, travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor site visits in all weather conditions on uneven/varying ground terrain.
  • Must be willing to travel to community for extended periods of time to complete field work and construction field reviews.

Wage Range

  • $80,400 - $91,400, wage dependent on years of experience
