We are seeking highly skilled Transmission Planning Engineers to support the Power Network Strategy & Planning Division (PNSPD) in conducting power system studies, preparing business cases, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The selected candidates will work from Clients Abu Dhabi office for a period of 12 months (with possible extension).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement static, dynamic, and transient models for electrical power systems.
- Perform transmission long-term planning, including substation expansion plans and transmission system master plans.
- Conduct technical and economic evaluations of transmission system expansion alternatives.
- Evaluate the impact of new loads and generation plants (renewable and conventional) connections on the transmission system.
- Perform electrical power system steady state, short circuit, dynamic, and transient stability analyses.
- Prepare technical reports to support the outcomes of network analysis.
- Develop business cases and technical presentations based on study outcomes.
- Create or modify automation scripts to enhance the efficiency, speed, and accuracy of technical simulations, with specific knowledge of automation scripting in Python.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical Power and Power Systems, or a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in a relevant field, including successful completion of a similar role as a Power Network Planning Engineer.
Field of Experience:
- Deep understanding of electric power systems, grid operation, and renewable energy integration.
- Knowledge of transmission network planning and analysis.
- Experience in power system analysis, including steady state, short circuit, dynamic, and transient stability.
- High proficiency in PSS/E software and Python coding.
- Experience with Plexus software integrated with PSS/E.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and deliver projects within quality standards and schedule constraints.
- Capability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
