Manulife is a leader in the Global High-Net-Worth (HNW) life insurance market with capacity to write insurance on residents in over 150 countries. This remains a strategic focus area for our business growth and we will fuel this growth by expanding our presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) region.

To meet our ambitions we are hiring for a Senior/Business Development Manager Global HNW Distribution who will report to the Senior Executive Officer Manulife Middle East Limited (SEO MMEL). This individual will be a key member of the sales and distribution team and should be versed with life insurance products and have an excellent understanding of the High-Net-Worth International Life Insurance market and marketing concepts. The candidate should also be a subject matter expert (SME) on Takaful insurance distribution and be able to identify develop and promote Takaful marketing/ sales opportunities and educational material while building strong relationships with our current and new GHNW Distributors.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as SME for Takaful distribution
  • Build and execute on Takaful distribution strategy
  • Identify new distribution channels and partnerships specific to Takaful
  • Position GHNW Takaful products effectively within the landscape of competitors and overall competitive landscape and run supporting illustrations as required
  • Motivate Distributors to sell GHNW Takaful solutions via participation in persuasive virtual and in-person sales presentations designing marketing initiatives and providing top‑tier responsiveness to Distributor inquiries
  • Work closely with Distributors to identify market and sales opportunities / business potential for distributor growth as well as address and resolve issues that will cover a wide array of topics and could involve Underwriting Product and other areas within the company
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies along with educational materials for and with Distributors
  • Educate and provide training to Distributors on GHNW Takaful products underwriting and processes
  • Consistently be proactive with key personnel to build enhance and manage relationships
  • Work with new distributors to diversify and expand GHNW sales reach into new Takaful markets (Saudi Arabia/Kuwait etc)
  • Cross promote Manulife solutions through GHNW by identifying implementing and executing sales and marketing initiatives aimed to retain business within the Manulife enterprise
  • Provide sales support to the Chief Distribution Officer Global HNW Distribution
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with GHNW distribution teams as well as internal personnel who support the GHNW Life business
  • Work closely with all internal departments (Product Marketing Underwriting Legal Case Management Titles Service Compliance) to further drive sales and marketing initiatives while also observing ways GHNW can advance and improve operational processes and procedures
  • Be a key reliable and trusted resource as well as Manulife brand ambassador to all contracted Distributors including their sales support staff sales consultants and senior management
Required Qualifications
  • Full‑time residency in Dubai
  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) required
  • Minimum 10 years in the Financial Services industry
  • Takaful life insurance experience is mandatory
  • Demonstrated strong ethics honesty and integrity
  • Ability to work highly flexible hours to support distributors across multiple global time zones
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically (up to 3 times per year)
  • Advanced knowledge of life insurance products case design and illustration techniques
  • Proven ability to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities
  • Strong ability to build and maintain external partnerships
  • Capable of working independently and within a team environment
  • Exceptional presentation written listening and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in webinars and Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint etc.)
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams across multiple locations
