Reports to: General Manager
Flow, Instrumentation, and Technical Duties will include:
- Marketing all flow division products, which will be the core of this role.
- Planning and making sales calls to valuable customers in the petroleum industry.
- Visiting petroleum and engineering head offices for presentations and demonstrations of the flow product line in support of the account manager and general manager.
- Supporting customers and branches with enquiries, technical queries, and sales issues.
- Compiling quotes, tenders, and technical trackers.
- Tracking sales budgets and ensuring they are met within the branches and division.
- Managing gantry stock and pursuing optimum stock days.
- Driving projects and branches for the latest market information and feedback.
- Maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date customer list for the assigned areas per branch.
- Managing contracts and service agreements in conjunction with the division and projects branch.
- Liaising with internal sales staff for job maintenance.
- Ensuring key customers are comprehensively serviced and visited, with or without branch managers and sales engineers (including occasional entertainment).
- Keeping management informed of market changes and trends that may affect the business, especially regarding competitors.
- Managing customer relations concerning return goods, credit, and repairs.
- Providing appropriate feedback to customers to maintain a professional customer experience.
- Ensuring the company is included in all tenders and that customer vendor lists are continuously updated.
- Assisting in receiving, compiling, and submitting tenders.
- Liaising with the technical department for projects and site work.
- Developing and maintaining internal policies and procedures for sales and projects.
- Completing and submitting call plans, reports, sales strategies, and product presentations.
- Expanding the existing client base and seeking new opportunities.
- Performing any additional tasks as required by the company.
Position is specific to technical sales; a technical background is required. Candidates need to understand basic mechanical and electrical layout drawings, P&IDs, interconnection drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Candidates should continuously expand product knowledge, have a general understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and an interest in custody transfer laws and standards. Sales experience is advantageous. Must be computer literate and efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office.
A general understanding of the midstream and downstream petroleum industry is required. A sales background with a proven track record is an advantage.
Must be a self-starter (go-getter), willing to travel, and have own reliable transport. Any technical qualification is an advantage.
