In their quest of continual renewal, The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) strives to build upon its early foundation, namely, a college for advanced technical education (1966), a Technikon (1979), all of which has culminated into the University of Technology (2004), as it is today.

As a member of the Executive Management, you will provide effective and ethical leadership to the University, particularly as it pertains to the Registrar's accountabilities and responsibilities. You will contribute meaningful input to your portfolio and effectively set and implement strategy in line with making valuable contributions to the long-range vision of the University.
A master's degree (or equivalent) is sought, however, if you have a PhD this will be an added advantage, as will any postgraduate studies in corporate governance and/or law. Importantly, it's your 10 years' relevant experience at a tertiary institution (or similar environment), where 5 years reflects accountability and responsibility in a senior management role. You pride yourself on your understanding of the Higher Education policy landscape, both nationally and internationally. Your approach and understanding of issues affecting student access and success, is unquestionable, as is your ability to address manifestations of inequality and transformation as they apply to the Higher Education environment. You have an excellent grasp of corporate governance issues within academia, as you do with at least one proprietary and open-source learning management system.
