Applicants are invited for the above-indicated vacancy that exists in the Scientific Sales Division.

The incumbent will report into the Regional Sales Manager.

Objective

To promote and generate sales on key product portfolios to pharmacies on both ethical and generic ranges.

In addition to the mentioned objective, the position will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong business relationships with pharmacy decision-makers, in order to drive net sales revenue.

Effectively promote and sell key brands to healthcare professionals (doctors and pharmacies) to meet specified sales targets through a customer-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Achieve and exceed set sales targets.
  2. Constant monitoring and driving of sales from customers, scripting from doctors, and sales from pharmacies in order to meet set targets.
  3. Sales to be driven at customer level by effective scientific detailing and use of marketing material.
  4. Plan - Pre-call planning on RepWise to be done weekly and daily prior to the customer call.
  5. This will ensure that you are prepared for the call.
  6. If you have a manager working with you for the day, your pre-call planner must be emailed to the relevant manager the evening before.
  7. Review the available data (Impact Rx, Z-more reports, Shortfall reports, SSD, QlikSense, and Swift etc).
  8. Achieve Call Rate and CPA objectives.
  9. See the required number of customers on a daily basis to achieve call rate and at the correct frequency to achieve call plan adherence.
  10. Capture daily calls and activities on RepWise.
  11. Conduct Doctor or pharmacy activities in line with compliance and regulatory standards.
  12. Complete the required number of pharmacy trainings and Doctor/pharmacy activities as required per business and territory requirements.
Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  1. Matric
  2. A valid driver's license
  3. Tertiary qualification or certified sales profession certification would be an advantage.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  5. Minimum 2 or 3 years proven track record in a sales environment

Knowledge:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  2. A sound understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  3. Comprehensive understanding of business procedures.

Skills and Attributes:

  1. Effective scheduling and attending of appointments and activities with Healthcare practitioners (Doctors & Pharmacies etc) in order to influence sales and meet sales targets.
  2. Implementing of strategies to drive sales and growth in territory.
  3. Maintain a solid working relationship with customers and colleagues.
  4. Territory and customer analysis in order to identify gaps and opportunities to be acted upon.
  5. Excellent analytical skills to review available data.
  6. Clear communication skills both verbally and written.
  7. Strong capabilities in logical reasoning in order to address and resolve queries and issues.
  8. Influencing and negotiation skills.
  9. Forward-thinker with the ability to work independently as well as to work as a team player.
  10. Good administrative skills in order to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and timeously.
  11. Strong work ethic.
  12. Establishes and maintains positive relationships (mutual trust and respect) with customers and other stakeholders.
  13. Good product knowledge and the ability to utilise detail material with the correct scientific messaging in order to drive sales.
