Bookkeeper
Job summary
A leading financial services firm in Durban is looking for a Bookkeeper to ensure accurate financial data record-keeping and reconciliations. This role requires strong data integrity and reporting skills, plus 2–4 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in logistics. Advanced Excel skills are a plus, and the position focuses on analytical insights to support financial decisions.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in distribution or logistics.
- Advanced Excel / data analysis certification advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Perform weekly and monthly bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
- Maintain clean and accurate general ledgers and journals.
- Prepare monthly financial summaries, variance analyses, and cost tracking reports for management review.
- Work with operations to reconcile stock and cost data between systems.
- Use data analysis to identify financial trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.

- Reduction in data discrepancies or errors
- Financial insight contributions (e.g., monthly variance explanations, cost control suggestions)
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (distribution or logistics background preferred)
- Advanced Excel / data analysis certification advantageous
