A leading engineering firm in Durban is seeking a passionate Proposals Engineer to drive project bidding through precise proposals in the Industrial Watertube Boiler sector. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, a valid driver's license, and at least 3 years in a project-based engineering environment. Strong communication and technical skills are essential for this role, which offers an opportunity to shape sales strategies and engage directly with clients.

Qualifications

  • Above-average performance in Mathematics, Thermo-Dynamics, Strength of Materials, and Technical Drawing.
  • A valid driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Create precise, cost-effective proposals and estimates.
  • Engage with clients to solicit and interpret project enquiries.
  • Review RFQs and define scopes of work.
  • Prepare detailed cost and time estimates.
  • Compile tender/proposal documentation.
  • Participate in client site visits and boiler inspections.
  • Update proposal database and contribute to sales strategy.
