Job summary
An established recruitment firm is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to guide financial decisions and drive profitability. The successful candidate will analyse financial performance, lead costing, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with IFRS standards within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. The role requires a BCom degree, CIMA qualification, and over 5 years of relevant management accounting experience. Exceptional Excel skills and strong analytical abilities are essential. This position is based in South Africa.
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in management accounting in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in costing and margin management.

Our client is seeing a Senior Management Accountant whose key role is to guide financial decisions, driving profitability, and supporting sustainable growth within a fast-paced manufacturing FMCG environment.
- Analyse and interpret financial and operational performance to support business decision-making.
- Lead costing, margin analysis, and variance reporting across key product and operational areas.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance packs.
- Maintain full IFRS-compliant accounting records and ensure strong internal controls.
- Partner with Production, Sales, and Operations teams to optimise efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee month-end close, stock reconciliations, and standard costing reviews.
- Support audits, risk management, and financial governance.
- Drive improvements in ERP systems, reporting automation, and business intelligence (BI) dashboards.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members.
- BCom Degree (or equivalent qualification).
- CIMA qualification (or studying towards it) highly beneficial.
- 5+ years' experience in management accounting, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in costing and margin management.
- Advanced Excel skills (Power BI experience a plus).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strategic thinker with excellent business acumen.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and results-driven.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
