A leading engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Johannesburg. The role involves leading various projects, ensuring quality compliance, and supervising a team of engineers. Candidates should have a BSc/BEng/BTech degree, be registered as Professional Engineers, and have substantial experience, especially in mining industries. This full-time position requires strong project management and communication skills.
Qualifications
- BSc/BEng/BEng Tech/BTech degree required.
- 6 years experience for MSc candidates.
- Experience in mining, minerals, and chemicals industries essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead small and large projects in Electrical Engineering.
- Supervise Engineers and Junior Engineers.
- Ensure engineering work meets contract requirements and schedules.
Skills
Education
State the minimum educational qualifications and experience that are required to perform the job competently :
BSc BEng or BTech from a recognised institute.
Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA.
Relevant years (BSc / BEng / BEng Tech / BTech) or 6 years (MSc) of post qualification experience.
Experience in Mining Minerals and Chemicals Hydrocarbons Power and Public Infrastructure industries essential across operations.

Lead miscellaneous small and large projects in the Electrical Engineering function and / or support the Principal Engineer / Lead Engineer in managing Electrical Engineering on projects. This required independence in approach; it demands a considerable degree of originality engineering ingenuity and judgement and good knowledge of Electrical Engineering as demanded by the project.
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the control and monitoring the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the Electrical Engineering discipline of the project including the supervision of Engineers and Junior Engineers
To carry out all electrical engineering and design work in accordance with agreed codes and practices that meets all requirements of the contract. Also to ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules budgets and procedures as per the company Engineering Directive.
To conduct engineering and design work independently and in accordance with the Worley engineering and project governance set out in the Technical Stewardship Standard.
