Job summary

A global inspection and certification leader in Gauteng, South Africa is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer. The role involves producing cost-effective electrical designs to support project deliverables in the mining and petrochemical industries. Candidates should have 5 to 25 years of experience in EPC/EPCM environments alongside a relevant degree. You'll manage project documentation, review cable specifications, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards in a challenging engineering environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 25 years’ experience executing projects in the EPC/EPCM environment, ideally in mining and minerals or petrochemical sector.
• Ability to adapt to different environments from a technical point of view.

Responsibilities

• Produce cost effective and technically sound Electrical designs to support project deliverables.
• Review and Approve Cable schedules and generate scope of work specifications.
• Maintain effective inter-discipline requirements and manage clients to meet project objectives.

Skills

Project Management - Knowledge of basic project management methods and knowledge of all project life cycle phases

Electrical distributions & transmission

Electrical control systems - Design, equipment and Systems

Technical Documentation - Ability to create, understand and communicate via technical specifications

Construction & Commissioning - Understanding of on-site construction work

Education

B. Sc/B. Eng. or B. Tech (Electrical) and preferably registered with ECSA as a professional engineer
