Job summary
A reputable food company in Singapore is looking for a reliable Kitchen Assistant to join their production team. You will support in the preparation of high-quality sushi and bento meals, while ensuring strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards. Ideal candidates should have experience in food preparation and a strong attention to detail, ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation, preferably in Japanese cuisine.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety.
- Ability to stand for long hours in a cool environment.
Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients.
- Assist in preparing sushi rice and assembling bento boxes.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment.
Skills
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistants to support our production team in the daily preparation of high-quality sushi, salads, and/or bento meals. The successful candidate will assist in food prep, assembly, and kitchen maintenance, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and portion control standards in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
- Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients
- Assist in preparing sushi rice, rolling sushi, and assembling bento boxes
- Portion and pack salads, proteins, and accompaniments accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment
- Assist senior kitchen staff as needed during peak production hours
- Prior experience in food preparation (Japanese cuisine, bento, or salad production preferred)
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Able to stand for long hours and work in a cool/chilled environment
- Punctual, hardworking, and able to follow instructions precisely
- Willing to work even during public holidays
