Job summary
A community service organization in Singapore is seeking a care coordinator to manage eldercare programs. The role involves guiding care coordinators, planning activities, and assisting with health monitoring for elderly clients. Candidates should possess qualifications in community service and have at least 3 years of experience in eldercare. Good communication and a passionate disposition for elderly care are essential. This position offers meaningful work in a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of working experience in an eldercare institution.
- Ability to prepare and conduct activities like cooking therapy and reminiscence therapy.
- Good academic background with minimum 3 credits in 'O' levels.
Responsibilities
- Guide care programme coordinators in elderly client care.
- Assist with client health monitoring and assessment.
- Support clients in distress, including those with dementia.
Skills
Education
- Guide the care programme coordinators to care for the well-being and safety of elderly clients in the Senior Care Centre
- Coordinate the planning and conducting of structured and interactive programme activities for the elderly clients
- Assist in serving pre-packed medication
- Assist in client health monitoring and assessment
- Aid in meal preparation and serving
- Update and assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Initiate Care Plan (ICP)
- Provide dysphagia care and EatSafe protocol
- Support clients in distress including persons living with dementia
- Assist in the Modified Barthel Index (MBI) assessment
- Perform basic Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
- Assist with Passive Range of Motion exercises (PROM)
- Perform escort duties and build rapport with clients and their family members
- Assist in cleaning and disinfecting tasks
- Participate in and support centre events
- Advanced/Higher/Certificate in Community & Social Service [Senior Care Services] and good “O” level [minimum 3 credits] or WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support [Nursing care]
- Competency in eldercare service with at least 3 years working experience in an eldercare institution
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess a passionate disposition to care for elderly clients
- Be able to engage comfortably with elderly clients
- Be able to prepare and conduct care programmes for seniors; e.g. daily news chats/cooking therapy/art & craft/singing sessions/dancing, reminiscence therapy; etc.
