Job summary
A local museum in Singapore is seeking a female part-time photographer to enhance the guest experience through photography and engagement. The role involves capturing portraits, assisting guests with dress-up, and creating content for social media. Candidates should have experience with low-light photography, basic editing skills, and fluency in English and Mandarin. Flexible scheduling is required for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday shifts, including occasional evenings.
Qualifications
- Female to assist female guests with dress-up.
- Able to commit to Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday consistently.
- Experienced with low-light photography and outdoor portraiture.
- Proficient in basic photo editing with common software or AI apps.
- Confident, approachable, and comfortable initiating conversations.
Responsibilities
- Capture flattering portraits and guide guests on posing.
- Assist in videoing for guests on social media.
- Conduct event photography for occasional evening events.
- Advise on suitable dress colors and assist guests professionally.
- Prepare social media content aligned with brand guidelines.
Skills
Location: Peranakan Mansion, 283A Joo Chiat Road
Days: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday
Time: 11:00am – 7:00pm (with occasional evening events)
Pay: $12/hour
The museum is looking for a female part-time photographer who is a good communicator, people-oriented, confident, with good energy and a pleasant personality to enhance the guest experience at Peranakan Mansion.
This role combines photography, photo editing, guest engagement, encouraging visitors to consider kebaya dress-up and photography, light styling, and simple sales.
- Capture flattering portraits of individuals, couples and groups, bringing out the best of both the subject and the beauty of the museum.
- Guide guests on posing, their best angles and expressions to achieve the most flattering results.
- Confidently operate a DSLR camera in low-light indoor settings and outdoor areas.
- Assist in simple videoing for guests for social media as required.
- Conduct event photography, including occasional evening events when required.
- Perform photo culling and basic (exposure, colour, crop, light retouch) to deliver quality images according to the lead photographer's standards.
- Advise guests during dress-up on suitable colours for their skin tone.
- Assist female guests respectfully and professionally with dress-up, fitting and hair.
- Ensure guests feel well-presented and confident for their shoot.
- Warmly communicate, engage and encourage guests with upbeat, positive energy.
- Explain clearly the kebaya & photography offerings, hairstyling and makeup services.
- Collect payment using the museum’s payment methods.
- When not actively taking photos, work alongside museum staff to proactively upsell:
- Museum workshops & experiences
- Mementos and gifts
- Additional photos / edited sets / professional photography package
- Prepare social media content and reels for use on the museum’s platforms, aligned with brand guidelines.
- Capture behind-the-scenes and feature content that highlights Peranakan culture, the venue and guest experiences.
- Be a friendly, confident ambassador of Peranakan Mansion.
- Share simple, accurate talking points about Peranakan culture (training provided).
- Protect and maintain the museum’s image, tone and visual standards.
- Female (to assist female guests with dress-up).
- Able to commit Tues, Thurs & Sat (or selected weekdays plus weekends) consistently, with flexibility for occasional evening events.
- Experienced with low-light photography and outdoor portraiture.
- Proficient in basic photo editing (any common software or AI apps).
- Speaks English and Mandarin (other languages are a bonus).
- Confident, approachable, well-groomed, and comfortable initiating conversations with guests.
- Bonus: Experience in portrait photography, events, or social media content creation.
- $12/hour (7–9 hours per shift)
