Job summary

Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide the care programme coordinators to care for the well-being and safety of elderly clients in the Senior Care Centre
  • Coordinate the planning and conducting of structured and interactive programme activities for the elderly clients
  • Assist in serving pre-packed medication
  • Assist in client health monitoring and assessment
  • Aid in meal preparation and serving
  • Update and assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Initiate Care Plan (ICP)
  • Provide dysphagia care and EatSafe protocol
  • Support clients in distress including persons living with dementia
  • Assist in the Modified Barthel Index (MBI) assessment
  • Perform basic Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
  • Assist with Passive Range of Motion exercises (PROM)
  • Perform escort duties and build rapport with clients and their family members
  • Assist in cleaning and disinfecting tasks
  • Participate in and support centre events
Job Holder Requirements:
  • Advanced/Higher/Certificate in Community & Social Service [Senior Care Services] and good “O” level [minimum 3 credits] or WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support [Nursing care]
  • Competency in eldercare service with at least 3 years working experience in an eldercare institution
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a passionate disposition to care for elderly clients
  • Be able to engage comfortably with elderly clients
  • Be able to prepare and conduct care programmes for seniors; e.g. daily news chats/cooking therapy/art & craft/singing sessions/dancing, reminiscence therapy; etc.
