Join us in shaping a sustainable energy future

Drive Asia’s energy transition with us! Our Gas & Related Services segment is a key growth engine, delivering reliable and efficient energy to industries and communities across multiple countries. We support Asia’s growing energy needs while advancing the shift to a lower-carbon future.

Purpose and Scope

The Head Excellence will be responsible for leading the Center of Excellence (CoE) division, overseeing key initiatives related to operational performance, technology development, and continuous improvement across the Gas and Related Business. This leadership role will ensure that the organization’s operations and technological advancements are optimized to drive performance, sustainability, and future readiness.

Reporting directly to the Market CoE Head, the Head Excellence will oversee two critical areas of the CoE: O&M Excellence (Performance, Reliability, and Reporting) and Technology Development (Upgrades, Digitalization, Automation & Future Proofing). In collaboration with the broader CoE team, including HSSE and Policies/Standards, the Head Excellence will play a pivotal role in ensuring the alignment of operational and technological strategies with the company’s overall business objectives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Leadership of Center of Excellence Division:

  • Lead and manage the CoE division with a focus on promoting operational excellence and technological innovation.
  • Ensure the CoE's goals are aligned with organizational priorities and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Foster a high-performance culture across the CoE, ensuring that teams are focused on delivering results, continuous improvement, and innovation.

Oversight of O&M Excellence and Technology Development Teams:

  • Directly manage and guide the O&M Excellence In-Charge (responsible for performance, reliability, and reporting) and the Lead for Technology Development (focused on upgrades, digitalization, automation, and future-proofing technologies).
  • Ensure effective collaboration between these teams to deliver integrated solutions that optimize both operations and technological advancements.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to direct reports, helping them achieve their goals and develop professionally.

Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for both O&M excellence and technology development that are aligned with the company’s vision, operational goals, and market needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Market CoE Head, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams (including HSSE and Policies/Standards) to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives and performance goals.
  • Oversee the annual planning and resource allocation for the O&M and technology teams to ensure that initiatives are prioritized effectively.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and innovative solutions.
  • Champion digital transformation, automation, and future-proofing efforts to maintain operational competitiveness in an evolving market.
  • Lead R&D initiatives for developing new technologies, tools, and systems that optimize gas operations, improve performance, and enhance reliability.

Collaboration with HSSE and Policies/Standards Functions:

  • Work closely with the HSSE and Policies/Standards functions to ensure that excellence initiatives comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Lead the integration of health, safety, sustainability, and compliance measures into operational and technological improvements.
  • Ensure that the O&M and technology teams are adhering to relevant policies and standards to maintain the highest levels of operational safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Oversee risk management processes related to the implementation of new technologies, system upgrades, and operational changes, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations and standards, and drive a culture of safety, compliance, and accountability across the CoE division.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in leadership roles, with a focus on operational excellence, technology development, or innovation in the energy, gas, or industrial sectors.
  • Deep understanding of O&M processes, performance management, asset reliability, and the integration of new technologies into operational systems.
  • Strong experience in leading digital transformation, automation, and technology upgrades to improve operational efficiency and future-proof the business.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams, collaborating across departments, and driving change.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with HSSE, Policies/Standards, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
