Senior Director of Finance is part of the Customer Solutions Growth Regions (CSGR), one of the commercial-facing divisions for the Construction Industries segment at Caterpillar Inc. The Construction Industries Segment provides machinery, technology, and services for infrastructure, building construction, landscaping, and waste management. The Senior Director works across highly diverse and global teams to provide strategic counsel, deliver analysis and insights, and partner with the business to drive profitable growth.

The role reports to the Division CFO of the CSGR Division and partners with the Go-to-Market, Customer Solutions, and Product Services & Technology Vice Presidents. It is a primary business partner and trusted adviser for the CSGR Senior Vice President and the Vice President Leadership Team. The position requires up to 20% travel and is on-site five days a week. Visa sponsorship will not be offered.

• Develop partnership with leadership to understand key requirements and outcomes for profitable growth.
• Provide strategic counsel to enhance performance and position the business for long-term success.
• Lead CSGR / Go-to-market monthly business report, analysis, forecast, and insights. Present results to leadership.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to the business VPs within CSGR, providing business insights and support for the Construction Industries Growth Regions Go-to-Market (Commercial) organizations, including deal analysis, regional sales analysis, and profitability analysis.
• Ensure delivery and presentation of insights and value to commercial leaders, including the Sr. Vice President CSGR.
• Deliver high-visibility presentations to SVPs and VPs across Construction Industries and other segments.
• Collaborate across the Construction Industries segment and the broader Caterpillar enterprise to maintain an enterprise focus.
• Foster a strong business risk management governance process.
• Champion finance transformation and continuous process improvement within CI and CSGR division.
• Lead a diverse team focused on talent development, succession planning, performance management, and target setting.

• Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes needed for sound decision-making.
• Financial Analysis & Modeling: Expertise in financial analysis and modeling, interpreting and drawing accurate conclusions from financial materials.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to apply “big picture” thinking and planning to identify and maintain focus on key success factors.
• Leadership: Understanding of leadership practices and the ability to enlist others in setting, embracing, and achieving objectives.
• Effective Communications: Extensive experience communicating at senior levels, applying communication concepts to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas accurately.
• Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives and projects, prioritizing effectively.

• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
• MBA preferred.
• Demonstrated success and progression in previously held accounting or finance roles.
• Experience as a true business partner, building strong relationships across functions.
• Superior communication and influencing skills.
