Job Purpose / Role Summary
The role aims to ensure accurate demand forecasts, achieve optimal inventory levels, and secure product availability across all channels (showrooms, e-commerce, key accounts).
The supervisor closely coordinates with Sales, Purchasing, and Logistics teams to support sales targets, improve service level, and enhance inventory turnover.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
Supply Planning and Replenishment
- Convert approved demand plans into supply and replenishment plans for warehouses and branches.
- Plan purchase orders and supply quantities in coordination with Purchasing to ensure product availability within lead time.
- Ensure optimal stock levels for each item / location / channel with a focus on fast- and slow-moving items and A/B/C classification.
- Manage safety stock levels and reorder parameters in the ERP D365 system based on demand variability and supplier performance.
- Follow up on open purchase orders, incoming shipments, and delayed orders with suppliers and Logistics to avoid availability gaps.
- Use statistical forecasting tools / Excel / ERP reports to build demand forecasts and validate them.
- Discuss and review forecasts with Sales, Marketing, and Category Management through demand review / S&OP meetings.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and bias.
- Coordinate with Product Management, branches, and Marketing regarding launch quantities, display quantities in branches, and allocation of promotional quantities.
- Monitor aging and slow-moving stock and propose actions (promotions, inter-branch transfers, bundling, returns to supplier, write-off) to reduce obsolescence.
Reporting, Analysis and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare regular reports including forecast accuracy, service level / order fill rate, product availability, stock aging, days of coverage, and OTIF.
- Analyze causes of stock-outs or excess stock and propose corrective actions and solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
Work Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in demand planning or supply planning.
- Preferably previous experience in a retail environment or home appliances / consumer electronics / FMCG.
- Experience in dealing with multiple channels (retail showrooms, e-commerce, key accounts / wholesale).
Technical Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of demand and supply planning concepts (forecasting, safety stock, lead time, minimum order quantity, etc.).
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Preferably familiar with Microsoft Dynamics.
- Familiarity with the S&OP process and basic statistical concepts for demand forecasting.
Behavioral Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and coordination skills with various departments.
- Ability to discuss and review forecasts with Sales teams in a constructive way.
- High level of responsibility and sense of urgency without losing focus.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Supervisory and coaching skills in case of having a planning team under supervision.
Languages
- Very good command of English (reading, writing, and speaking).
