About Kimpton Riyadh

Located in King Abdullah Financial District, which is set in the heart of the Saudi capital, 22 kilometers away from the airport, Kimpton Riyadh is the first Kimpton in the Middle East bringing the brand’s playful energy, infectious personality, and unique design style to this LEED certified landmark development home to 1.6 million square meters of state-of-the-art office space, world-class venues, and iconic luxury residences. A Banquet Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of events and banquets. Here are the typical day-to-day activities for this position:

Day-to-Day Activities of a Banquet Supervisor

1. Supervising Banquet Staff:
   1. Leading and mentoring the banquet team to ensure high standards of service.
   2. Conducting briefings and training sessions to keep the team informed and motivated.
2. Event Setup and Coordination:
   1. Overseeing the setup of banquet rooms according to event specifications, including table arrangements, decorations, and audio-visual equipment.
   2. Coordinating with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage service.
3. Guest Interaction:
   1. Greeting event organizers and guests, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any special requests.
   2. Handling guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
4. Quality Control:
   1. Inspecting banquet setups and service to ensure they meet the hotel's quality standards.
   2. Ensuring that all food and beverage items are presented and served correctly.
5. Inventory Management:
   1. Monitoring inventory levels of banquet supplies, such as linens, tableware, and decorations.
   2. Placing orders and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
6. Administrative Tasks:
   1. Preparing and submitting reports on banquet operations, including sales, inventory, and staff performance.
   2. Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and activities.
7. Ensuring Compliance:
   1. Ensuring that all banquet operations comply with health and safety regulations.
   2. Conducting regular inspections to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
8. Event Coordination:
   1. Assisting in the planning and execution of special events and banquets.
   2. Coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless service during events.

Skills and Qualities Needed

1. Strong Leadership Skills:
   1. Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve high standards of service.
2. Attention to Detail:
   1. Ensuring that all aspects of banquet service are impeccable.
3. Organizational Skills:
   1. Managing multiple tasks and maintaining detailed records efficiently.
4. Communication Skills:
   1. Communicating effectively with staff, guests, and suppliers.
5. Problem-Solving Skills:
   1. Addressing and resolving issues promptly and effectively.

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

1. Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification, or equivalent in Hotel Administration.
2. Two to three years’ prior tenure in a similar role.
3. International luxury hotel chain background.
4. GCC exposure.
5. English fluency is required.
6. Arabic fluency is preferred.

This may involve taking on additional responsibilities as needed, especially during periods of high occupancy or in emergency situations.
