A leading aviation infrastructure firm in Saudi Arabia seeks a Technical Manager/Director with extensive experience in airport projects. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of progressive experience and at least 8-10 years in a senior leadership role. Responsibilities include overseeing technical delivery, preparing commercial documentation, and coordinating with aviation stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are preferred. Familiarity with airport operational services is advantageous.
The Technical Manager / Technical Director shall have a minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in airport, aviation, or large-scale infrastructure projects, including at least 8–10 years in a senior technical leadership role (Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, Technical Director, or equivalent) on operational airport projects, with demonstrated involvement in both technical delivery and commercial support functions.
The candidate must demonstrate proven experience across the full project lifecycle, including design review, supply, installation, testing and commissioning, operations and maintenance (O&M), project handover, and technical-commercial support during tendering and pricing stages, particularly for long-term airport O&M contracts.
The candidate shall have extensive hands-on experience in Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs), Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), including systems integration within live airport environments, and shall demonstrate specific experience in O&M pricing, cost modeling, and lifecycle planning for PBB and BHS assets. A strong background in associated civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works such as foundations, pits, trenches, steel structures, utility diversions, and reinstatement works is required.
The role requires demonstrated expertise in preparing, reviewing, and approving high-level technical, operational, and commercial documentation, including technical proposals, compliance matrices, pricing inputs, method statements, execution strategies, design reports, interface control documents, testing and commissioning plans, O&M manuals, lifecycle cost models, and handover dossiers, in full alignment with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.
The candidate shall also have proven experience in coordinating with airport operators, consultants, aviation authorities, OEMs, system integrators, and specialist subcontractors, and must be familiar with international and local aviation standards and regulations (including ICAO, IATA, and applicable national aviation authority requirements).
Experience in ground handling operations or broader airport operational services (airside and/or terminal), with an understanding of how these interfaces impact airport systems, O&M delivery, and service integration, shall be considered a strong advantage, particularly where such experience supports entry into new airport service verticals.
Experience on large-scale, brownfield, and live airport operational environments, as well as involvement in tendering, pricing, variations, claims, value engineering, and commercial negotiations for airport systems and O&M projects, shall be considered a strong advantage.
Educational Requirements
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Systems Engineering).
Professional certifications related to project delivery, asset management, or quality systems (such as PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent) are considered an added value.
