Job description

Hashmeta was founded in 2012 and has successfully assisted over 1,000 local brands and 20,000 regional advertisers in achieving their digital marketing objectives by fusing creative content strategy with intelligent targeting. With an experienced team of in‑house digital marketers, we are now one of Asia’s fastest‑growing digital marketing companies.

In the last decade, Hashmeta has evolved into a full‑suite martech company – bolstering the agency business with proprietary products that work hand in hand for a differentiated business model. Our products include Skoolopedia – an education platform; StarNgage – an influencer marketplace; ShopperBoard – a fashion shopping app; ShopperCliq – a social commerce app; and our most recent launch, the Hashmeta Academy where we nurture the next generation of digital marketers.

Headquartered in Singapore, Hashmeta has offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, and China.

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative, data‑driven, and highly organized Influencer Marketing Specialist (Mandarin‑speaking, specialising in the XHS platform) to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end execution of influencer campaigns for a diverse portfolio of clients across Malaysia and Singapore. From identifying the perfect "micro" or "macro" voices to negotiating contracts and analysing ROI, you will be the bridge between our brands and the creator economy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Discovery

  • Develop tailored influencer strategies that align with client KPIs (Brand awareness, engagement, or conversions).
  • Identify and vet influencers across platforms (Xiaohongshu, Instagram and TikTok) using both manual research and discovery tools.
  • Maintain an updated database of "tried and tested" influencers in the MY/SG region across various niches (Beauty, Tech, F&B, Finance, etc.).

2. Campaign Management (End‑to‑End)

  • Manage the full outreach process: initial contact, rate negotiation, and contract signing.
  • Brief influencers clearly to ensure content aligns with brand guidelines while maintaining the creator's authentic voice.
  • Coordinate product shipments or event attendances for influencers.
  • Review and approve content drafts to ensure they meet XHS platform requirements.

3. Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Monitor active campaigns in real‑time to ensure milestones are met.
  • Compile comprehensive post‑campaign reports, analysing metrics like CPV (Cost Per View), CPE (Cost Per Engagement), and conversion rates.
  • Provide actionable insights to clients on how to improve future campaign performance.

4. Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long‑term relationships with influencers and talent agencies.
  • Stay ahead of social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms (e.g., the rise of Xiaohongshu in MYSG).
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Skills
  • Applicants with a bachelor’s degree or above with priority given to majors in Chinese, advertising, journalism and marketing.
  • A high level of Chinese proficiency is a must; applicants with own XHS account and experience in XHS content creation is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Social Media Marketing or Influencer Management (Agency experience is a major plus).
  • Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of Xiaohongshu, Instagram (Reels/Stories) and TikTok. Familiarity with the SG/MY creator landscape is essential.
  • Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate fair rates and manage budgets effectively.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak/write in Bahasa Melayu is a significant advantage for the Malaysian market.
  • Analytical Mindset: Comfortable working with Excel/Google Sheets and influencer marketing tools (e.g., HypeAuditor, Modash, or similar).
Soft Skills
  • The "Hustle" Mentality: Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced agency environment and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Cultural Intelligence: Understanding the distinct audience behaviours in Kuala Lumpur vs. Singapore.
  • Eye for Content: A strong aesthetic sense to distinguish between "good" content and "high‑converting" content.
