Job summary

A leading environmental consultancy in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia is seeking a qualified individual to lead the operations of waste water treatment plants (WWTP) and manage scheduled waste. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, 3-4 years of experience in WWTP, and hands-on knowledge of Scrubber operation and RODI systems. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to compliance, and the ability to work independently.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Lead the team in operating waste water treatment plant (WWTP), scrubber operation, de-ionized water plant (RODI), and scheduled wastes management
  • Maintain the operation systems related to compliance, preventive maintenance plan, operational and process improvements
  • Record, review and report performance monitoring of WWTP, scrubber and RODI operation within the standard time
  • Ensure WWTP, scheduled wastes and scrubber legal records are reported in respective DOE system (OER, eSWIS V2.0, Stack emission submission)
  • Work closely with the production support team, ensuring effective installation, removal and reconfiguration of facility resources for production equipment to meet manufacturing, local laws and customer requirements
  • Review and develop specific documentation, procedures and site change control processes for equipment and process up to date
  • Collaborate closely with consultants, contractors and suppliers on projects, modification and improvement activities
  • Enhance knowledge for continuous improvement of operation
  • Daily record chemical consumption, treatment volume and chemical delivery to determine operation trend and improvement action plan
  • Manage and prepare budgeting related to operation equipment, chemical usage, consumables items, scheduled wastes management, operational analysis, servicing and maintenance as well as project CAPEX
  • Perform scheduled mock drill for WWTP, scrubber, RODI and scheduled wastes to prepare for non‑compliance situations
  • Conduct and lead performance monitoring analysis and be responsible for changes
  • Report, rectify and provide justification of solutions to Engineer / Competent person if any abnormality occurs
  • Prepare and maintain required spare part inventory to prevent operation downtime
Requirements
  1. Candidate must possess at least a degree in Engineering or equivalent
  2. Minimum of 3-4 years of working experience in WWTP with a proven track record
  3. Hands‑on knowledge of WWTP for physical‑chemical and biological treatment
  4. Hands‑on knowledge of Scrubber operation, RODI system and scheduled wastes management
  5. Understanding of local legislative regulations and compliances
  6. Familiarity with WWT analysis and equipment
  7. Having any DOE competency will be an advantage
  8. Ability to lead a team, demonstrate initiative, high commitment and be highly independent with minimum supervision
