Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify hazards in construction sites.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures in line with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and guidelines set by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- Advise site management on health and safety matters, providing recommendations to reduce risk and improve safety standards.
- Prepare and review safety plans, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
- Conduct safety training and orientations for workers to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Investigate accidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with external authorities (e.g., MOM, BCA) for audits, inspections, and safety certifications.
- Ensure proper documentation of safety reports, accident logs, and training records.
- Promote a safety-first culture and maintain effective communication with all site workers and supervisors.
- Monitor and report on the implementation of safety initiatives and provide regular updates to management.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in workplace safety within the construction industry.
- Possess a valid WSH Officer certification from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- Knowledge of local regulations, safety standards, and best practices in construction.
- Strong understanding of risk management and hazard identification techniques.
- Ability to conduct safety audits, investigations, and inspections.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with site supervisors and workers.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Newly registered Safety Officer is welcomed.
