Job summary

A manufacturing company in Penang is seeking a Welder who will assist in machine setups and ensure compliance with quality specifications. The ideal candidate should possess a certificate or diploma in welding with 1–2 years of experience. Responsibilities include reducing material wastage, maintaining safety standards, and supporting preventive maintenance efforts. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a certificate or diploma in the field of welding.
• Preferably with at least 1–2 years working experience as a welder.
• Experience or knowledge in TIG/MIG/FCAW or robotic welding.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the setup of machine and material preparation based upon the process drawing.
• Responsible for performing manufacturing jobs based on QA checksheet.
• Reduce material wastage, machine setup time and runtime.
• Support Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) program.
• Ensure the workplace meets the 5S housekeeping standard.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the setup of machine and material preparation based upon the process drawing and material picking list
• Responsible to perform the manufacturing job based upon the internal QA checksheet and external customer specification requirements
• Take full accountability to reduce the material wastage, machine setup time and run time
• Support TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) program and work towards reducing machine down time
• Take full accountability for SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) duties and policies
• Assure the machine run time and product output meet the target given by the supervisor
• Assure the workplace meets the 5's housekeeping standard
• Perform the daily production report
• Perform overtime work when requested by supervisor
• Responsible for personal safety and safe conduct so as not to endanger others or company properties
• Accountable for TPM program and responsible for improving the equipment effectiveness
• Assure the technical team carries out their routine duties based on the departmental KPI (such as reduce wastage, increase production, improve quality)

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a certificate or diploma in the field of welding
• Preferably with at least 1–2 years working experience as a welder
• Experience or knowledge in TIG/MIG/FCAW or robotic welding
