Job summary

A logistics and asset management company in Chukai is seeking a Warehouse & Asset Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at Kemaman Yard. Responsibilities include managing warehouse logistics, inventory control, and asset management while ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess a relevant diploma or degree, have at least 5 years of experience in warehouse management, and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. A forklift license is an added advantage.

Warehouse & Asset Manager (Kemaman Yard)
Key Responsibilities
  • Warehouse & Yard Operations
    • Manage day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound logistics.
    • Oversee proper handling, storage, preservation, and segregation of materials, tools, and consumables.
    • Maintain excellent housekeeping, yard layout, and operational efficiency.
    • Monitor loading/unloading activities for accuracy, safety, and compliance.
  • Inventory Management
    • Ensure accurate stock control and timely system updates for all materials.
    • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile stock discrepancies promptly.
    • Oversee issuance, return, and transfer of materials to project teams.
    • Ensure all items are properly tagged, labeled, and documented.
  • Asset Management
    • Lead asset registration, tracking, verification, and maintenance planning for all company assets located at Kemaman Yard.
    • Maintain an up-to-date Asset Register, including tools, equipment, machinery, and facilities.
    • Ensure periodic asset inspections, calibration schedules, and maintenance records are properly documented.
    • Coordinate with Procurement and Projects for asset mobilization/demobilization and retirement/disposal processes.
    • Ensure asset preservation, lifecycle tracking, and optimization of asset utilization.
    • Support asset audits and ensure compliance with company asset control procedures.
  • Safety, Compliance & Quality
    • Enforce strict compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company SOPs.
    • Ensure safe operation of forklifts, lifting equipment, and material handling processes.
    • Support internal/external audits and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • People Management
    • Supervise inventory and warehouse staff, yard personnel, forklift operators, and asset management staff.
    • Plan and allocate manpower according to operational demands.
    • Conduct staff training, performance assessments, and disciplinary management when needed.
    • Encourage teamwork, continuous improvement, and a positive work culture.
  • Logistics & Coordination
    • Coordinate with Procurement, Projects, Transport, and HSE teams for material and asset movement.
    • Liaise with vendors, transporters, clients, and authorities when required.
    • Assist in mobilization/demobilization planning and equipment transfer scheduling.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for warehouse, inventory, and asset movement.
    • Maintain proper documentation for goods receipt, issuance, returns, transfers, and asset records.
    • Ensure all filing systems (manual & digital) are accurate, updated, and audit-ready.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Asset Management, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse, yard, or asset management operations, preferably in oil & gas or industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of material handling, asset lifecycle management, warehousing SOPs, and inventory systems.
  • Competent in MS Office and warehouse/asset management systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Forklift license, SHO/HSE background, or experience with lifting equipment is an added advantage.
