Vehicle Inspection Equipment Technician (Based in Temerloh, Pahang)
Ensure all vehicle inspection equipment and building facilities at assigned locations are in good condition, well-maintained, reliable, and compliant with relevant acts and regulations.

Job Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to major equipment breakdowns and lead repair activities to meet downtime KPI targets.
- Perform root cause analysis (5W1H) and implement preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Plan and lead Quarterly Preventive Maintenance (QPM) across assigned branches and prepare QPM reports in line with SOPs.
- Prepare monthly KPI reports and performance observations for equipment and branches.
- Conduct on‑site calibration and certification of vehicle inspection equipment with accredited bodies (e.g. SIRIM, DOE, JPJ – Automotive Engineering).
- Manage equipment accuracy and reliability programmes (e.g. GR&R) to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Provide technical support to HQ and branches for critical repairs, troubleshooting, equipment modifications, installation, and maintenance as instructed by superiors.
- Oversee vehicle weighing equipment (e.g. axle weighbridges), including monitoring vendor stamping work and ensuring vendor maintenance meets regulatory and procedural requirements.
- Monitor regulatory updates related to vehicle inspection and ensure compliance with current laws and standards.
- Identify and record equipment defects during warranty periods and support the company in submitting warranty claims.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations, and assist in training and mentoring new staff on the company’s operating procedures.
- Carry out any other duties or tasks as assigned by superiors.
Job Requirements
- Minimum pass in SPM with a Level 3 Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM), or Diploma in Automotive or Automotive Engineering from a government‑recognised college/institute/university.
- Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in maintenance and repair of equipment or automation machinery; experience in vehicle inspection or automotive repair is an added advantage.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Understanding of performance monitoring and achieving equipment‑related KPIs.
- Familiarity with vehicle systems, mechanical diagnostics, and diagnostic tools is preferred.
- A valid B2 and D driving licence is required; GDL and E licences are an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations, vehicle inspection standards, emission control, and pollution systems.
- Ability to identify technical faults and provide accurate repair recommendations.
- Good communication skills and able to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Skilled in using inspection and modern diagnostic tools.
- Computer literate and comfortable using IT systems.
- Professional, with high integrity and accountability.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and handle pressure well.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays if required.
- Must be able to commute or relocate to Rawang / Temerloh.
