A manufacturing company in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Design Tooling/Molds expert to utilize 3D-CAD software (SolidWorks/I-Mold) for tooling and mold design. The role requires proven experience in tooling and mold design, particularly in plastics injection molding. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a degree or diploma in engineering. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with teams and ensure project success through effective design management.
Design Tooling/Molds: Utilize 3D-CAD software (SolidWorks/I-Mold) to design tooling and molds, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budget plans.
Coordinate Tooling Activities: Oversee all tooling activities from Design for Manufacturing (DFM) through to qualification, ensuring timely completion.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other team members and departments to achieve tooling/mold qualification, sampling, and part approval.
Manage Design Changes: Follow up on any design changes and ensure part qualifications are met.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to molds, jigs, and fixtures.
Educational Background: Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Design, Tool & Die, or Mold Technology).
Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and verbal communication in English and Malay. Mandarin speaker added advantages.
Experience: Proven experience in tooling/mold design, with a preference for candidates with exposure to plastics injection molding.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with 3D-CAD software (SolidWorks/I-Mold) and a solid understanding of the tooling/mold design process.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues efficiently.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in design and documentation.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to team success.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
