Job summary

A manufacturing company in Bayan Lepas, Penang is seeking a Tooling Quality Manager to oversee tooling quality management systems and lead a dynamic tooling team. The role requires a minimum degree in relevant fields and at least 2 years of experience, preferably in injection moulding. Candidates should be familiar with SPC, and possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills. This position aims to enhance tooling process efficiency and facilitate timely project deliveries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in production/operation field.
• Experience in mould fabrication or CAD/CAM processes will be an advantage.
• Familiar with SPC, 8D, DOE, FMEA, and other QC tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead tooling quality management system.
• Oversee development related to the tooling process.
• Monitor new tool trial and existing mold qualifications.
• Collaborate with production and process teams for improvements.
• Coordinate with fabrication team to expedite NPI project timelines.

Job description

Responsible and lead on tooling quality management system, such as preventive maintenance, incoming buy-off, and mold lifespan management.

Oversee the development of internal and external (vendor) related to the tooling process, downtime and cost inthe tooling department.

Take ownership and closely monitor of new tool trial and existing mold qualification status to release mass production.

Collaborate with production and, process team to analyze recurring tooling issues and aiming for improvement.

Coordinate with the fabrication team to expedite the NPI project timeline and follow on necessary corrections

Lead the tooling team and provide training to the tooling team on SOP/WI/Checklist

Job Requirements:

Minimum Degree in Polymer Technology/ Mechanical Engineering/ Material Science/ Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering or its equivalent

Minimum 2 years’ experience in any production/operation field, especially in injection moulding will be add advantages.

Experience in mould fabrication or CAD/CAM process will be add advantages.

Familiar with SPC, 8D, DOE, FMEA and other QC Tools

Good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia

Strong interpersonal,leadership, and communication skills.
