Job summary

A leading electronics manufacturing firm in Malaysia is seeking a qualified individual for a role focused on developing test procedures and engaging in NPI projects. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 3 years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS). The role requires familiarity with high-level functional testing, solid knowledge of electronic circuits, and proficiency in standard test instruments. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field, with minimum 3 years in EMS.
• Familiarity with high-level functional tests and cable assembly testing is preferred.
• Solid understanding of electrical/electronic circuits is essential.
• Knowledge of MCU, FPGA, Logic Gates, ADC, DAC mechanisms is advantageous.
• Skillful in using standard test instruments such as Oscilloscope and DMM.
• Trained in IPC 610/620 standards is a plus.
• Familiarity with QC 7 tools and 8D problem-solving tools.
• Knowledge of QMS: ISO9001/13485 preferred.
• Experience in lean manufacturing systems and electronics components reliability.

Responsibilities

• Draft and complete test procedures and provide necessary training before mass production.
• Be involved in NPI / FA projects and conduct studies on DFT.
• Maintain test instruments and ensure proper preventive actions are taken.
• Check spare test parts and raise Purchase Requisitions as needed.
• Debug and analyze test failures to improve yield rates.
• Make improvements to existing test equipment to increase throughput and quality.
• Participate in Engineering Change Notifications according to Quality Procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To draft & complete test procedure, release & provide necessary training before mass production starts.
• To be fully involved in the NPI / FA project, conduct study on DFT and providing test solution for new product, developing test fixtures/test system with 3rd party, conduct commissioning for new fixture/new test system.
• To maintain and ensure all the test instruments are in proper state in term of preventive, predictive and corrective action to ensure smooth production.
• To check the spare test parts and raise Purchase Requisition for the test instruments on demand.
• To debug & analyze test failures and make suggestions for yield rate improvement and provide technical guidance for technicians on test/debugging. To assist in line rejects troubleshooting.
• To improve existing test equipment to increase throughput/quality/coverage.
• To participate in the Engineering Change Notification in accordance with Quality Procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronic/ Electrical Engineering or related field with minimum 3 years working experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)
• Familiar with high-level functional test or cable assembly and harness testing is most preferred.
• Solid knowledge base for electrical/electronic circuits, it is the key requirement
• Knowledge for MCU, FPGA Chip, Logic Gate ICs, ADC, DAC, working mechanism (e.g. ARM, Microchip, TI) FPGA will be added as an advantages
• Skillful use of various standard test instruments (e.g. Oscilloscope, Waveform Generator, DMM, LCR meter, Cable Harness test equipment, high voltage test equipment and etc).
• Knowledgeable and trained in IPC 610/620 standard is a plus.
• Familiar with QC 7 tools and 8D or related solving problem tools.
• Knowledge of QMS: ISO9001/13485, internal auditor of each QMS is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in implementing lean manufacturing system.
• Knowledge on electronics components reliability & failure mechanism.
• Test software development utilization.
