    Role Summary

    We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Program Manager to join our Sustaining Engineering (SE) Team. You’ll be responsible for resolving technical issues, supporting manufacturing lines, identifying areas of cost reduction, managing schedules, and coordinating change orders, all while actively monitoring product lifecycles to keep them competitive. This role requires flexibility and excellent communication skills, as it involves a wide variety of projects interfacing with many groups across the company and spanning multiple contract manufacturers and suppliers.

    Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the technical and programmatic focal point for Sustaining Engineering activities in our Malaysia office.
  2. Prioritize high-value projects with the US and SE team, organize resources accordingly, and backlog other ideas to keep tasks lean.
  3. Identify issues with parts, products, and assemblies quickly, and work through root causes to resolution.
  4. Prepare budgets, purchase orders, and schedules for SE projects as needed.
  5. Identify opportunities for cost reduction at various levels including parts, products, assemblies, and calibration.
  6. Coordinate testing activities with engineers and quality departments to ensure products meet specifications.
  7. Manage, document, and confirm product changes across multiple contract manufacturers, maintaining consistency of solutions and updates.
  8. Notify management and stakeholders of potential schedule impacts.
  9. Facilitate regular status meetings with both domestic and international teams.
  10. Ensure seamless communication with other functional areas such as Operations, Planning, Sourcing, Process Engineering, Logistics, and Software.
  11. Coordinate and manage supplier and contract manufacturing activities to meet project objectives, including regular travel within Asia (at least 4 times a year).
  12. Contribute to building a culture of trust, teamwork, and high standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering preferred.
  • Working knowledge of software/firmware and some programming experience.
  • Familiarity with electronics, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • 5+ years in project management related to product development.
  • 5+ years experience working on assembly lines or in manufacturing/process engineering.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, MS Excel, Jira; familiarity with Minitab is desirable.
  • Understanding of statistical process control methods (e.g., Cpk, T-Tests, X-Bar/R charts, DOE) is highly desirable.
