Job Title: Technical Engineer
Based in Bandar Cassia, Penang, Malaysia. Travel or long-term overseas assignment may be required in the future based on business needs (including Saudi Arabia).

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Engineer to support the company’s expanding business in Malaysia and overseas markets.

This role encompasses project management, pre-sales, and after-sales technical support, covering the company’s Auto-ID product portfolio, includes barcode printers, handheld terminals (PDAs), scanners, RFID devices, and labeling consumables.

You will act as a key technical bridge between customers, the sales team, and internal technical teams, responsible for solution deployment, technical consulting, project coordination, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth project execution and an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in project requirement analysis and develop implementation plans and timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Identify and assess project risks, and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage project quality to ensure deliverables meet technical and business standards.
  • Conduct product and solution demonstrations for customers and partners.
  • Support the sales team in RFP/RFQ responses, technical specifications, and solution design.
  • Analyze customer requirements and recommend optimal hardware and software configurations.
  • Execute product testing and Proof of Concept (POC) projects.
  • Provide product and technical training to customers and internal teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues remotely or on-site.
  • Provide customer training on product operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with software and technical support teams to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Document and report customer technical issues and feedback to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Must have permanent legal working rights in Malaysia.
  • Proficient in Chinese and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of independently preparing technical proposals and engaging with customers.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of proven project management experience, with the ability to coordinate resources, plan schedules, and drive project delivery.
  • Experience in hardware and software integration or technical project-related roles preferred.
  • Hands-on technical experience with hardware devices such as printers, scanners, and IoT equipment.
  • Familiarity with barcode and RFID technologies; experience with brands such as Zebra and Honeywell is an advantage.
